FAP Architects explored two avenues for this project; remodelling the existing 1960s bungalow or replacing the existing dwelling with a new build.
After much consideration, new build was considered to be the most efficient design solution, creating a flexible contemporary dwelling suited to a modern family lifestyle.
The four bedroom house required careful planning negotiations, as the site was adjacent to the Riverhead Conservation Area.

This project included a complete remodelling of an existing 1930s Arts & Crafts dwelling, including a large two storey extension and the development of the basement to create a habitable space.
There were extensive alterations including a raised terrace overlooking the Darent Valley. The sloping site is located in the Metropolitan Green Belt and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. FAP Architects opened up the rear of the house to make best use of the outstanding views.

FAP Architects have delivered contract administration and project management services on this refurbishment and roof extension project in North London to modernise the top floor flat and provide an additional floor comprising bedroom, ensuite and external terrace.
Throughout construction the client was working abroad and FAP provided weekly updates from site to show how the project progressed.
The property had previously suffered from subsidence and FAP have worked with the contractor and structural engineer to rectify any slanting features.

Carters Cottage is a curtilage building to a Grade II listed riverside house in a conservation area.
Currently a three bedroom dwelling, the brief was to provide further ground floor living accommodation and additional bedroom over the garage.
Planning for a modern rear extension and traditional roof extension was approved and the project is currently on site.

The brief for this second floor flat in Whitechapel was to create an artist's studio through a roof extension, providing an additional bedroom and improving living spaces.
The new open plan third floor has extensive views across the City of London with large openable glazed doors.
The project is nearing the end of construction.
